Frame – Frame Tear Down and POR15
Once I got the cab mounts welded up solid it was time to get the frame torn down, cleaned up, and hit with POR-15. You can see from the pictures everything was really rusty so it wasn’t the easiest teardown ever. Quite a bit of bolt cutting and a lot of penetrating lube.
Once we got everything off of the frame we hit it with a quick wire wheel once over. After that we power washed it and then used POR-15’s Marine Clean and Metal Prep and power washed it again. After we let it dry we applied the POR-15, we only needed one quart for the whole frame (pretty impressed with how far that stuff goes, we only did one coat however).
The frame came out looking like a shiny black diamond!
