1978 F250 Build Post 13
FRAME – Axle Breakdown and Frame Rebuild
After we got the frame all cleaned up and painted it was time to attack the axles. Everything got wire wheeled, cleaned, and Por-15’d. Shackles, shock mounts, Dana 60 rear, Dana 44 front, leafs, etc. etc.
After that we installed all new drum brakes on the rear axle and put the Rough Country 4″ lift on. We wanted to get the frame set up as a rolling chassis so we could push it out of the way and make room for other parts of the build. As of now the frame will be put aside and will be waiting for brake lines, fuel lines, gas tank etc. when we are ready to re-assemble the truck.
