Cab repair – Rocker replacement
The cab floor was completely shot throughout, the only thing that really survived was the trans area and firewall. Most people would look for a new cab but we wanted to save our old truck as it has sentimental value. I basically ordered everything on the cab body panel page of LMC; cab corners, inner rocker panels, outer rocker panels, floor pans, upper front/rear rocker sections, etc. Once we got the LMC box in we began measuring and cutting. We decided to weld in a brace to the cab door area to keep it from losing its shape.
The whole rocker section on both drivers and passenger side needed to be completely replaced. The rocker replacement started with the inner rocker panels and we worked our way back out using the rocker outer panels and the door jamb sections. This was a huge amount of work and if you’re not attached to your cab I would suggest getting another cab haha. Check out the pictures below to see what I mean.
Next up will be jambs, cab corners and floor pans.
